Senior Lieutenant Ksenia Marko, age 33. She served in the Ukrainian Air Force from 2014 to 2023, ending her tenure there as an S-300 air defence system commander, before transferring to the Land Forces. Isn't that just a post-assembly function check, though? The way she stands there with everyone looking at her suggests she's doing it for a reason.

Some weapons have a magazine disconnect safety. Never handled a FAL, maybe it's the same here?

At any rate, if you reverse-search the image, it's from the Brazilian Cadet Corps official social media channels. Some sort of competition on October 25, that also required disassembling and reassembling the rifle with a function check. All participants end their assembly drill by pointing the rifle into the air and pulling the trigger, with an empty mag inside, so maybe that's how the Brazilian military teaches it.

Would be interesting to know.
