Food & drink What are you drinking?

Handled some business today on my day off. Not everything went my way. So, got me some Dragons Milk, my favorite beer to make everything positive. Not my photo. Hand a little wobbly.

Edit, mine says 12% ABV.

oh my - got to find some of this in the UK - I like stout but 11% - I won't be doing a lot the day after

^Lightweight… the highest ABV beer I sampled was about 15% and about 16oz or 500ml

Ladies and gentlemen, let me introduce to you: Bourbon County Brand Stout:

In all fairness, I had it for lunch if memory serves and it sparked a nap.

A bit of blasphemy

Red wine mixed (1:1) with Sprite in a stein

When I was younger I used to drink "Korea" red wine mixed with coke.

This version (with Sprite) was my grand pas' "lunch wine" when he still had work to do. ?

Vodka with soda water and lime is brilliant. You end up drinking less because you have to put it all together first. I still enjoy the occasional beer though, but I've lost about 1.5kg since making the switch.
Its even commercially sold now, I always see billboards advertising "hard seltzer"...

Oh S**t. you know what, my Dragons Mild does say 11%, F*** me it hit that hard. I swear it was 12 %. Still have a few and am off to work tomorrow.

A very rare cidre for me, locally crafted in Normandy and barely 2,5% ABV. Super sweet and offered by the in-laws so no drain pour. ;)

Pairing it with some Nutella biscuits.

Never tried this but saw it in Publix today when I went to get some fried chicken (they usually have good fried chicken). I will say you can certainly taste the hops. Not bad.

Cigar City do a nice brown ale I've had a couple of times..

Surely you’re thinking of:

I used to dig Cigar City’s « Jai Alai » and I cannot find it anymore unfortunately. They also brew a kick ass Lager.

That is the one mate. It is nice. Pretty sure I've had that Jai Alai as well.

Drinking Golden Tawny of the Goon bag variety. Fortified wine with a kick of sweetness. Why drink beer with 4.6% alcohol, when a $12 2L goon bag contain 17.5% alcohol? Word to calculating drunks.

Warsteiner Dunkel. Had one of them on Sunday night while on family trip to MSP. Then, I split a Teton Brewing Berry Wheat with me Mum over a sandwich lunch yesterday after we arrived back home from the airport.

The Croat beers I've had have always been money well spent!

They were decent actually, I've had a few and I have a couple of croat pilsners and witbiers left.

The pale ale and IPA they sent were really nice, the hops and citrus weren't amped up to ridiculous levels that seems the norm these days....

currently? well iam six coronas deep this evening to celebrate my 5 week leave!
gentlemen, i wish you a wonderful night

cheers whiskey

I've taken a strong liking to Tawny, fortified wine that I believe people refer to as Port or whatever. Anyways, the strength of it's alcohol drew me to it, it's taste and cheap price came second. I tell you, why drink beer at a 5.% alcohol average when tawny with it's deliciously sweet offering out of a 2 litre $12 doon bag will give 17.5% alcohol volume. Some say they like the taste of beer, but I say to those some, stop trying to live up to an advertisement and guarantee your inebriated state at a faster rate by buying Tawney aka Port wine. That is all.

Planning to buy a bottle of rye or sour mash tonight or tomorrow... Saturday morning at the latest.

Speaking of alcohol content: I'm perfectly fine with 80 to 85 proof these days, as more than 40-ish percent alcohol leads rapidly to potential headaches later on! I'm very careful about those high-test ales too.

Back to the shopping:

Probably a cheap rye, but maybe Jack Daniels if it is on sale! Oh, what the heck: I'm looking for a deal on rye too!
