I took a picture of this road sign a long time ago while driving home from Germany.
I couldnt resist it as it made me laugh so much. Cant seem to find the one I took but it is tucked away somewhere

Here is the sign

My word bombardier, that photo brought back some memories. W*** had the last petrol station in Germany they we could use our cheap petrol coupons at. So I’d fill up the car with petrol plus two jerry cans and drive home to England, then I stop there on the way back with nearly an empty tank to fill up again. It was a lot cheaper than the petrol in the UK.

In the south of Germany there’s a place called Wankum.

Hmm..... I think we have got this the wrong way round mate, this pick may have been taken in the south whilst on a Snow Queen exercise. Wasnt Wankum the town with the last filling station ?

Oh how my memory gets in mucking fuddle (Y)

Yes at the end of Route 3

Who said the Germans were boring.
Just think, if someone in this country asked where you lived and you said W***. I do not think it would go down to well.......solaf

Well done Bombardier, I’m going to give you 10 out of 10 for spotting my deliberate mistake.

After the latest 'Big Brother' - they'd just think you had Tourettes Syndrome!! solaf

Yup, Ex Snow Queen! Nesselwang was great skiing and drinking and you weren't too far away from Neuschwanstein, the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang castle!
I did Snow Queen in '87 - anyone else on then? If so, what hut?

There is a mountain in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Bavaria that is called W***.
There is also a hut on it called W***-Haus (W***-house).
When I was in the army, we did a mountain tour onto the top of the W***.
Last summer when I went to Garmisch on the Autobahn, I spotted a sign on the side of the road that said: W***-Haus open/offen!welc.
