Men of the 24th Infantry Regiment move up to the firing line in Pusan Perimeter Korea. July 18, 1950. At the time this photo was taken the 24th was still primarily a segregated unit.
On 17 July 1951 during a patrol of the Chinnampo harbour the HMNZ Rotoiti carried out a ground attack on an enemy gun position at Sogon-Ni Point. An assault party of 14 men, supported by gunfire from the ship, landed and took two enemy soldiers prisoner.
