On or around the 20th May we will be updating our software in the following 3 areas.

    Media Galleries
    Forums
    Showcase reviews

This will mean that we will have a downtime of about 15 minutes.
The updates will not provide any new functions but increase the stability and security of our site.

    Thanks for your patience

We are also in the process of setting up our security certificate which will change our Http:// to https://
This lets all viewers and members know we are a trusted site running on a secure server.

We are now fully HTTPS ready, if you have any issues let us know.
As small a thing this seems to be it is a huge step forward, thank you

It would seem that the change from http to https has affected the numbers in our twitter, Facebook and Google + display. I think security of personal information goes way beyond that and as such I am happy enough.

    mi.net https.jpg

We had at least 247 on FB and 47 on Google+ before the change

Doesnt seem I will be able to correct the Social media share counts as they are controlled by the relevant social media sites.

Now that we are a secure site you will see the following on any page where your personal details need to be enetered.
In most cases this is simply your username and password

Edit to the above, I am learning more about security as I go along...
You should see the secure text on each and every page, that said if you do not it is because an image has been posted that does not have the HTTPS prefix rather it has been posted using the HTTP prefix. This does not mean our site is not secure, just that a photo has been inserted from a non secure site.

I noticed the change when I posted a photo from my imgur account using http, it would seem Imgur allow http & https so when I changed the prefix the page was shown secure again.

It is not a huge issue just thought I would explain it in case anybody was wondering?..... or am I the only geeky nerd around here :confused:mil-smile08

Forum and Media areas now upgraded

Having some minor issues with the new upgrade but nothing to worry about

Thought I would let you all know that you should (if all works well) be able to drag and drop photos into your posts now, just highlight up to ten and drag them in. Give it a go and let me know if it worked for you. This will likely only work if you have an up to date browser

Thanks for all your patience with our upgrades conducted this month.
We now only have our review section to upgrade which I believe we will have done within the next 10 days.

Its good to see some of you using our new Resource feature and in time it should be a very useful facility.

    Bombardier OUT!
