Major Laura Nicholson (British Army Air Corps) repeatedly flew her Chinook helicopter into intense enemy fire to rescue wounded U.S. Marines from an Afghan battlefield. As bullets tore into her helicopter, Maj. Nicholson calmly waited until all casualties had been placed aboard her aircraft before departing the battlespace. With complete disregard for her own life, she returned a second time to evacuate more U.S. Marines. She has been awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross for her valor. The bonds of courage and friendship between two inseparable allies lives on . . . .

Well done Major Nicholson we are very proud of you

What a brave woman I am proud to be British when I read stories like this. I am sure our American comrades will be too

She is a credit to herself, her family and her country
