Lately I´ve been thinking that maybe… Ukraine should drop the ball. There´s no way that Ukraine´s flag will ever be waving over Donbas again. But there´s too much blood spilled for that on all sides. Speaking of spilled blood, here´s an interesting article which was also translated and posted by our national news about Russian volunteers coming home from Ukraine https://meduza.io/en/feature/2016/02/19/you-could-say-we-proved-ourselves

Spent some time reading news regarding war in Ukraine, here are some interesting articles/pictures/videos.

I tip my hat to the Ukrainian medic http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/may/18/two-russian-soldiers-captured-near-rebel-controlled-luhansk-says-ukraine

Regarding Odessa, only one thought. No, it wasn´t a genocide (1941 was a genocide). Yes, the protest was brutally smashed. Was there no other way? Of course there was: that Odessa wouldn´t be Ukraine anymore. We could discuss about this but I´d rather someone from our Ukrainian friends on this forum would do that instead.

https://en.wikisource.org/wiki/Constitution_of_Ukraine#Article_81 Yanukovych seized the Constitutional Court and violated several articles of the constitution. I really don´t have time to print it and compare it. What I remember is article 81 and that he gave himself unprecedented power over all bodies of the Ukrainian government. If this is no reason to demonstrate, I don´t know what is. (If you´re a bit investigative and interested, start with Simone Weil, then we can talk about democracy, what can or perhaps can´t be considered legitimate.) If the current government violates the constitution, if people are fed up with it, then they will demonstrate. You can bet on that.

Pictures posted in August 2014. They were mane in a textile factory yard in Ivanovo, the convoy (98th Airborne Division) then made its way towards the border with Ukraine. Not sure about the copyright, here´s the source anyway http://ura-inform.com/ru/society/2014/08/19/v-ukrainu-tajno-otpravljajut-rossijskij-desant-foto

Feel free to google around.

By the way, if it´s on the national news averagely 3 days after the first report worldwide, you know that there´s not much point in hiding it anymore.

From Marinka, February 2016 http://www.thedailybeast.com/articl...war-in-ukraine-they-re-still-fighting-it.html
The fear of death locks every door at about 5 p.m. “Last time I felt safe outside in the evening was before the 3rd of June in 2014,” says Alina Kosse, director of the House of Arts for children. “That was the day our nightmares began, thousands were fighting on our streets, tanks destroyed buildings, dozens were killed, wounded or captured.”

Ukraine struggles to recruit soldiers for war in east http://uk.reuters.com/article/uk-ukraine-crisis-military-idUKKCN0VD21Q
"There's no desire to return," he said, speaking on condition of anonymity. "There were many things we had to buy ourselves, or volunteers donated them."
"Officially they gave us two pairs of socks for the whole period, useless old boots, a uniform from flammable fabric, which is freezing in winter and sweaty in summer."
Anti-Russian feelings still run high in much of the country, but war fatigue has set in and 79 percent of respondents in a December poll by the Democratic Initiative Foundation think tank said the government's priority should be ending the conflict.

because of their fear and hate everything Russian.

Western Governments might feel this way but I doubt the people of the west do.
Only the other day I read posts from British Military Veterans that supported the Russian presidents stance in Syria and his strength while making some very difficult decisions that our own governments in the West to are to frightened to make. That doesnt mean I like all the actions he has ordered but I do understand that sometimes difficult decisions have to be made.

I also have a great respect for the Russian people however I tend to have a great respect for people of all countries for various reasons.

Life on Ukraine´s Frontline http://www.caritas.eu/news/life-on-ukraines-frontline

Ukraine is a sad country, don´t know why since they have the best soil in the world and the most beautiful women.

Previous President of Ukraine was a thief, but now President of Ukraine is a murder! Did you notice a difference? Everything that happened with Ukraine is consequences of revolution. Revolution was performed by Nazis and after that whey went into authorities. And they are not outcasts; there are a lot of them! For some reasons Western countries support them, perhaps because of their fear and hate everything Russian.

You do not recommend me to use Sputnik and TASS, which are approving actions of Russia. Does it mean that I have to use facts represented by media which are disapproving actions of Russia? Now how about democracy and variety of opinions? BBCis funded bythe state as well as Sputnik and TASS. Medusa was found by Russian outcast. Wikipedia is easy editable without any verification.

You use twitter posts as irrefutable evidence. US department of state has not found any evidence of Russian presence in Donbas. OSCE observers have not found any evidence too. A European intelligence service has a lot of opportunities to find official evidence in chaos of war. But they didn’t.

Photographs in Facebook are fakes made in different places and different times and posted by Ukrainians.

You told that it was planned to take Crimea. From this point of view what was the reason for many years develop alternative naval bases in Novorossiysk for Black sea Fleet which should left Crimea in 2017?

You blame Putin because he has balls to protect national identity of Russia. I’m afraid if you will stay on your current course the crosses on your flags will be replaced by crescents in a next hundred years.

Please, read again my posts about Odessa and Crimea. I´m too lazy to repeat myself.

I don´t want to divert the attention from this topic but I have to clarify this one. Ukraine´s flirt with the neo-nazis doesn´t help their cause and their reputation. It´s a stupid and dangerous idea even if I´d took into consideration that they need motivated soldiers and crazy enough to go and fight and die for Donbas. I´ve already said that Poroshenko is an idiot (and that the Banderas deserve two bullets in the head each, which you probably forgot about elegantly). A murderer? Please elaborate so I can properly respond to that (if I’m in the mood, that is). Come to think of it, you are pretty mellow about the Kadyrov guy, Girkin, Strelkov, Motorola and the like in comparison with how you like to play the Nazi card in every post, about how RF treats their soldiers returning from the war, about Putin´s amendments to use soldiers abroad – which comes strangely enough in the right time, about publicly active people who went missing or turned up dead during his regime, you know that there are lists of them, about how the state´s media glorify Stalin (imagine what would happen if Hitler would be this popular in Germany), proclaim Katyn is lies, the invasion of my country legit, Ribbentrop-Molotov as a great idea. On a second thought, screw the last one. It wasn´t the media, it was Putin´s own words actually. Because of that I don´t use RF media as my primary source (and yes, I trust more the fairytale world of BBC, at least they admit that the Western world was kissing Hitler´s ass for a time, on the other hand, you don´t see me using Bellingcat either, do you?). Because of that there is no scenario in which I would justify what Putin does. I wouldn´t say he´s got balls either, (the medic helping RF soldiers in my previous post has got balls), more like… Asperger’s? I don´t know, didn´t study medicine. If you like to use RF media as your primary source, use it, by all means, use it, I´ve never said you couldn´t. As far as using bloggers as source material is considered, look who made those videos you posted? Not that there would be something wrong with them, only… don´t lecture about double standards. Also I´ve said nothing about Russia being an aggressor. If this is what you feel, well, we can talk about that, I guess, in another thread? Look, why don´t you guys join NATO and we all can live happily ever after and hugs and kisses and bubblegum, and bomb the S**t out of ISIS together?

Considered all that was stated above, the last quoted sentence is a laughable flamebait, 1/10. A little too low on the Lutz. Do better next time.

Personally, I don´t hate everything Russian, I´m not like that moron Soros. I love ballet and vodka. Enough talking, videos from the ATO zone, the Pantsir-S1 looks good (I don´t care if it’s Russian or not at this point, only admiring it):

Something about the T72B3 http://www.military-today.com/tanks/t72b3.htm

Oh, I almost forgot. Since when are OSCE workers allowed to roam the ATO zone freely? I mean it, I don´t know. You were asking for OSCE reports; it took time but I found some. Jaysus, Diman, I really do hope that at least one of us gets paid for this.

There are reports about Ukrainian soldiers being charged with crimes in the ATO zone. Are there similar reports considering insurgents or the RF volunteers?

I don´t want West and RF to be enemies. Anymore, that is. But whether or not and how much are West and RF involved, and if this is a prolongation of the Cold War, was a debate for 2014. If you know what I mean. That and I hope that RF gets GLONASS to work, so that their planes don´t violate the airspace of other countries. I mean I can imagine it is difficult to navigate a fighter jet with a paper map in the lap.

One more thing, I´m done with this thread. It takes too much time and nerve. If someone wants to investigate, the world wide web has no boundaries.

I do enjoy reading your posts @saiga
I wish I could partake a little more in this discussion but as I have said before my knowledge is limited and my normal work takes up so much of my time I find little time to eat never mid study this in more detail.

I have learnt a lot from your good self and diman and although it is clear you have differing thoughts, isnt that what places like this are for?, that is to say enlightening us that no little about the subject matter.

Now to follow your links

Understood mate but thanks for your thoughts on the matter

Please do so, just (and I apologize if I´m overreacting)… don´t go fully Sputnik. Steer clear of Slavyangrad and Fort Russ, and use Tass with utmost caution. And mind Dailyfail. Militarymaps are very useful.

State media and praise Stalin and curse in equal measure
Enough to watch TV in Russia to know that it is so

Stalin ordinary people love not for repression, but for the fact that he was able to defeat Hitler, for something that took the country with a crowd of peasants, and left the industrial giant with an army and science

I publish the Nazis in every post, I thought that this plague destroyed in 1945, and want to remind people that it is not so unfortunately!

Wow a new thread on the Ukriane conflict, I thought I'd never see the day since MP.net went down.

Has anyone heard of the resurging talks that conflict is soon to rise and start up again in the spring, talks from the pullout of Russian forces in Syria to the inreasing violations in the Minsk agreements. Do you guys think fighting will (actually) resume coming this spring or is this more conspiracy talks.

Also, to settle the debate, both sides are pretty S**t tbh, no argument there. There are many problems and war crimes being committed on both sides. Now these threads are awesome and we can have debates, but don't start spouting propaganda or info trying to accuse the other side without proof, just saying.
