Looks like the A-TACS iX

A-TACS iX (Intermediate Xtreme) Camo is the first in a new generation of concealment from A-TACS Camo. New A-TACS iX is the flagship pattern a new “X series” line of camouflage patterns – the central component of a complete multi-environmental concealment solution. A-TACS iX utilizes the very latest in printing and camouflage design technology combined with the perfect blend of colors from the already popular A-TACS AU and FG camouflage patterns to create a pattern with vastly improved depth and definition.A-TACS iX Camo also incorporates enhanced edge detail in the transitional areas between light and shadow within the pattern to create the added illusion of depth while maintaining the unique A-TACS Camo “pattern within a pattern” concept. New A-TACS iX Camo is best suited for transitional environments with a blended mix of intermediate greens and desert tans.

A-TACS IX EFFECTIVENESS

In this video we look at the effectiveness of A-TACS IX camouflage pattern in a Woodland Environment during the spring/summer time (North Texas woods). This video will consist of numerous scenes where each will begin with a concealed stationary position (both with & without the use of vegetation), followed by a movement phase out of the initial position. The purpose of the video is to give the viewer a chance to see the individual camouflage pattern and how it looks and blends into this environment. There will be varying degrees of how much of the uniform will be exposed to the viewer. Some scenes will only expose little more than perhaps a hat, while other scenes will have virtually no vegetation covering.

Here is another picture taken of Recon Team Dutch Oven while we were waiting on the LZ for the helos to take us to the bush. There is quite a hodgepodge of uniforms, including some mix n' match but there are a couple tiger stripes in there.

101st LRRP Operation "Harrison"

On 27 February 1966, SFC Philip R. Chassion (Clarkesville, TN) pre-briefs members of his Long Range Reconnaissance Patrol (LRRP) team. The LRRP team was preparing to move by helicopter into Viet Cong territory to gather vital intelligence. The mission was conducted as part of Operation “Harrison” near Tuy Hoa, Republic of Vietnam. One of Chassion’s Soldiers used a camouflage stick to write “POP” on the top of his head. MSG Chaission was later killed in action on 2 February 1968, during his second tour.
