So you want to moderate here on MI.Net?

Thats great and quality mods are always welcome but this is how it works

  • The ultimate decision for accepting a moderator will be made by Admin staff
  • You must have at least 50 quality posts on the forum
  • You must be prepared to accept a members difference of opinion and not simply throw a hissy fit and ban them
  • You must ensure that no gorey photos or nudity (porn) photos are posted (this act would not incur an immediate ban but a warning)
  • You must act with dignity, you are a representative of MI.Net
  • You must interject immediately when you discover other members are treating each other disrespectfully
  • You must get to know the workings of this site and be prepared to assist our members
  • You must ask other mods or the admin for advice if you are unsure of what action to take in respect of a user or their posts.
  • You must act immediately if a post is clearly not work safe (I.E a post viewed on a members work computer would cause them any disciplinary proceedings)
  • You must only act in the best interests of MI.Net and not based on your own personal feelings
  • If you feel that Persec or Opsec are being compromised act straight away and seek advice.
  • Remember that you are a member also and can express an opinion, but your opinion must follow the aforementioned rules for posting
  • You are not God here, I am! just teasing and trying to break the monotony of these rules :)
  • Accept that you can be wrong even though you're a "Mighty Mod" you will be respected for your honesty
  • When criticising a post, be objective not subjective provide facts and figures (that goes for all members too)
  • There will be no secret "Invite Only" threads here. although, should we need a private chat we can create a conversation if you want to be discrete. Our members are in control not us, as long as its within the rules. Without them we are nothing.
  • As a Mod you will be provided with a web based email account usually your username@militaryimages.net

These rules will likely be added to as time prevails

Good luck

Thanks bomber it took me long enough to convince you I was worthy

Edit - Just realised as a mod I can post in this closed thread, awesome now what to do next with my newly found powers

Have to be sure who I employ Lol, anyway to be honest I didn't really need that many mods until I made the recent changes, I anticipate that in the next few months you will be a little busier, but time will tell

Types of Mods

1 - Content Mod, moderates particular forum content
2 - Forum Mod , moderates all forum content
3 - Super Moderator, moderates site wide (forums/Galleries/Reviews/resources)

It would be normal for a new moderator to start at number 1 and in time progress if they so wish

Congratulations and a big welcome to @BravoZulu to MI.Net staff as a Moderator.
Bravozulu has all the required elements to qualify as a mod, not only are all his posts of a great quality he has experience in running a forum such as ours.

During his time here I have been impressed by his contributions and his commitment to our cause ;) (as I have of many more of you)

Remember that you too can become a mod if you feel you could meet the above requirements at the top of this thread.
If you are from a different part of the world than me (as bravozulu is) then all the better as time zones mean that the site is active when I'm in deep sleep and you may be awake to assist in keeping MI.Net the safe and friendly place I always intended it to be.

Be safe, Stay strong
Bombardier OUT!!
