Soldiers, sailors and airmen leaving the Services are to be offered the chance to study for a qualification free of charge, it has been reported.
According to the News of the World, personnel who have completed six years service in the Army, Royal Navy or RAF will be eligible for the scheme.
Under the plan, the Government will pay their tuition fees to study for GCSEs, A-levels, university degrees or other qualifications.
The measure forms part of the Armed Forces Command Paper, due to be published on Thursday, dealing with a whole range of welfare issues affecting Service personnel.
