Photos Seeking Information on these photos

I am hoping someone might help identify the context of the following WWII-era photos I found amongst my father's belongings. He was an instrument technician in the RAF, mainly 26 Squadron and was in France at some stage. He was released from service on 12/04/46.

Neither look particularly RAF related to me. photo 1 looks like it has germans in it.
