Photobucket no longer allowing 3rd party hosting of images for free
Instead you will be asked to pay 39.99 per month

    See pricing below.

3rd party hosting is where you use the code provided by PB and the image is displayed on the forum where you insert it.

Now you might say well that's there choice but if you have been using photobucket on here or any other sites all your images will now look like this.

My advice : Create an album here and upload all your military photos, as you know we provide the code for you to use on other forums too :)

I save images to my computer hard drive before putting them in flash drives or external hard drives. Now if I could only get them organized so I can find stuff on demand!

    I wrote this in another forum about photobucket;

I suggest people use imgur or postimg.or. Both are 100% FREE.

Stay away from tinypic also.. they are free however they are owned by photobucket and after six months of "no click" your posted image URL will be used again by some other tiny pic member and no telling what they will post. Usually some idiotic teen agree crap or maybe even porn. Oh yea it happened to me some years ago. Also photobucket "accidentally" hundreds of my photos without my permission. All they did was apologize.

    I don't like photobucket. Nope..not at all.

When PB first started I thought they were on to a good thing, but like most companies who get too big for their boots they punish the very people who got them there.

I understand that companies who were solely reliant on advertising revenue, like PB are now struggling because of software that can easily block adverts. Some websites now have in their terms of service that ad blockers should not be used etc.

The thing is that PB started as a free service and people joined them because of that, those people uploaded thousands of photos and posted them in their Ebay, Amazon listings and forums such as MI.Net. They were given too little notice about the change and many sellers and webmasters now have to clean up the affected posts. this is why we have set up the image caching
    https://www.militaryimages.net/threads/image-caching.6879/#post-25752

In the future we will implement a function that will automatically convert any posted images from third parties to thread attachments. there is nothing worse than a discussion thread that has broken image links, it completely destroys the discussion.

I have a feeling that PB will reverse the decision they have made and come up with a more favourable solution or they will most certainly go under

That is fine to do that @BrassMonkey and why we provide the code for your images.
You can create as many albums as you like and share them wherever you like.

We have no plans to charge for that service EVER! but the photos must be connected to the military

Have Photobucket lost their tiny corporate minds?
Why dd they think people used them in the first place....because it was free!

I can see that being the end of them and anybody who has photos uploaded to them should delete them all.

    IDIOTS!
