An excellent first hand account from members of a German infantry division defending the Normandy beaches during the Allied invasion of France. It tells of some members recollections from before the invasion, up through the defense of their positions during the landings and their withdrawal from the beach defenses and the fighting which followed during the withdrawals. This book will make you not want to put it down until it's finished. A great story from the "other side" of the action and what the german soldiers went through during that intense period of the war. A must read and I highly recommend it to anyone who likes history told from the opposite side of the battle field.
