Exercises will take place on land, at sea, and in the air. The Netherlands is participating with HNLMS Johan de Witt, units of the Marine Corps, and two NH90 helicopters. The Maritime Battle Staff is also participating in Cold Response.

I agree, why blue? It blends with nothing and it make the crew standout against the gray ships like a bruised thumb! Why not gray, which blends into the gray breast works of a ship?

Navy identity marked by the colour blue.
Military identity marked by military camouflage pattern.

Blending is irrelevant on a huge grey ship. If anyone need to hide, just go inside.

Wearing grey or blue overalls makes you feel like a civilian technician.

The 10th Infantry Battalion is a reserve formation, so maybe they have gotten hand me downs from front line formations, but the LOAW with the heavy barrel and bipod shown here is only issued to the Marines (no one else cared for it). The drum mag has also never been issued AFAIK.
