Photos Mk.1 Ferret Scout Car build.

Hi @PegAsus this particular MK was an early one but yes they did update the drivers hatch to help with vision.

But I wasn't referring to the driver's seat (although that's also interesting), no, I meant that “staircase-like area” where the commander is presumably located. In the photo of your model, it looked as if there was nothing to look out (to the front) from there, but in the photos I can see the two angled vision blocks behind the foot of the machine gun mount ;-)

@PegAsus hi yes that's all the commander has to see out of for this type of MK... the driver indeed has more vision. For the commander to see to the rear he will have to look out through the two larger hatches lower down. The later types with turret didn't have much more vision.

Hm, doesnt realy make sense to me for a scout vehicle (or isnt it a scout?), that the commander doesnt have a good view to the front... The first pic with the turret with the Vision block makes more sense to me...

By the way, my wife once gave me a ride in a BRDM 2 for my birthday because she knows I'm into that kind of thing. Although the vehicle had some interesting technical features (such as small powered wheels that can be extended in the middle to prevent it from touching the ground with its belly), it was so loud inside that you could only communicate by shouting. How you're supposed to spot an enemy that way is beyond me... Of course, I realize that the “pros” use helmets with built-in headphones so they can still communicate. But you only notice the enemy when the first shells hit the vehicle... Hearing an enemy tank when the vehicle is moving is impossible.

It's done....... Less for Commander yet to be painted.

The cage to be fixed in position and a letter G is to be applied.

I have to say that the graphics you get don't give you a vehicle weight decal or a second flag that goes on the back.... But I'm probably asking for a little too much 🤔

But I'm happy that I took my time to do this one properly 😁😁😁

It wasn't till I got both vehicles together that I had forgotten to add the... G.
I will have to source an... A... Half size to add but in time that will be done.

@PegAsus yeah the larger scale is much more user-friendly as for my next build I will have to wait and see........I have made the stalwart In 1/72 scale and that turned out very well.

Sorry for the poor quality of picture.

Looks super to me, I dont know if i have the nerves to build something in 1/72 scale ever again...

On the other Hand, i found a new Mecha Line and they are in 1/72. But its like the Gundams, in coloured plastic and you dont need no extra colours. Here is one that found the way in my stash on Christmas: Aaron Rhino (Grady Exclusive)
