Photos Mk.1 Ferret Scout Car build.

#PegAsus thanks for your reply. I have sent an email to them just to confirm the correct fitting process..... Best get this bit correct as I don't want to F..K it as I have only had it a few hours 😂
This idea comes to my mind After i wrote my text... Send an e-mail to the pruducer and ask them. The best way to prevent any mistakes (Y)

Got a reply..... Each side needs to be cut separately. This is not designed to fold. Start with the base, then add each side. Use thinned-down PVA (white glue) which dries clear and gives you time to position each part.

Better get some PVA...as I do need some for other stuff.

Just as I suspected...

Btw. do you know "Crystal Magic Glue" from AK? Someone from a model-making forum I'm a member of recommended it to me as the "ideal adhesive for PE and clear parts". I now have the adhesive, but haven't used it for that purpose yet (although I have used it to repair scratches in the parquet flooring in our living room ;-))

In the bits you can choose which version you wish to build.

With the kit it gives us the option of three different Machine guns for the build.

I will start the build in Jan after Christmas is over.

It's always a question of whether it's a curse or a blessing to have an original photo. Because most of the time, you only see the vehicle from one side. With a single-color vehicle, that's not so bad, but with one with a camouflage pattern, it's annoying.

@PegAsus it's true that in today's HD world we get to see them as they are now refurbished and looking their best...... But it's even harder to see them in old photos from back in the day as we didn't think of constantly taking pictures.... and with cameras back then very poor images was norm 😁.

This picture below is the best we could do 😂😂😂

The road you're driving along looks like a country road in Lower Saxony...

PegAsus:
On one of the biggest German manoeuvres we spent weeks under canvas in the coldest winter for many years... I didn't complain much 😂😂😂

I feel for you, buddy. Freezing your butt off is no fun ;-) Can you remember what year that was?

I can't remember.. I've had a look online and there were no major nato manoeuvres in winter so it must have been a Regimental winter firing camp as I recall it was called to an early end. I have had a look at my army career info which I have so it was 1978/79.

Hi guy's I'm in the frame of mind that these two will do nicely for the build.... As with all things there will be a bit of modification required to have them sit comfortably but I'm holding back from purchasing them till I get some of the model together and that will trigger the purchase when I'm happy they will do.

That could fit: Schneekatastrophe 1978/1979

The snow disaster of 1978/1979 was a weather event involving snowstorms and snowfall of exceptional magnitude, combined with unusually low temperatures in northern, central, and eastern Germany, as well as in neighboring areas such as Denmark, southern Sweden (Skåne), and northern Poland. After beginning at the turn of the year 1978/1979, a second event in February 1979 also led to severe disruptions in large areas of northern Germany.

Such weather conditions are very unusual for northern Germany (see Climate in Germany). The snowstorm at the turn of the year was declared a state of emergency. Disaster alerts were also issued during the February event.

I remember having to shovel meter-high snow drifts with my father that winter. My father was a caretaker and the snow had blocked the entrance to the boiler room, so the tanker truck couldn't get to the filler neck. I don't know how many hours we spent digging through the snow until we finally cleared a path for the heating oil...

Btw. sorry for hijacking you thread but that picture triggered something in me... Maybe its an inspiration for a diorama?

@PegAsus no problem you are welcome to contribute to any of my posts at any time.
I'm in a position to do little bits that I have extra to add to the build it's a very easy task just take care.
I put together the rear luggage cage and will spray it up when I have other items to do when I get the spray gun out.

I highly recommend that you don't buy those figures... I don't know... I think everyone who has read the post agrees with me...🤔

More than one person here wants to see the Ferret with THAT figure 🤣

@TIGREDELAIRE hi can you give a reason not to go for these... What is it that you have had an issue with.... Has anyone else had a problem with them.
Thanks for any info 😁

Oh no, my friend, not at all! What happened is that you posted that picture of the Ferret with "Sam Elliott," and more than one person wants to see him armed like that. I think they're spectacular figures, very well made, with great details, but come on, everyone wants to see "Sam Elliott." 🤣
