I continue, my friend: first, I attended the Police Cadet School. Its motto is "Force in the Service of the Law," and it bears the name of General Francisco de Paula Santander y Omaña—a hero of our independence.

I completed my professional degree and served as a Marine. This is the emblem; it is part of the Navy of the Republic of Colombia, and its motto is "Willpower overcomes all" (in latin).

Finally, following my specialization and my first master's degree, I arrived at my current branch—the Colombian Aerospace Force—whose motto is "Thus one reaches the stars" (in Latin).

This emblem, my friends, is perhaps the most famous in our Army—none other than the crest of the legendary and deeply mourned "Colombia" Infantry Battalion, participants in the Multinational Force in Korea (Col. Bat. 1), Suez (Col. Bat. 2), and now in the Sinai (Col. Bat. 3).

This corresponds to the most highly trained unit within the Colombian Military Forces: the Lanceros Group. It constitutes the first step toward becoming a Commando in Colombia; they represent the "Colombianization" of the U.S. Army Ranger, and are perhaps the most admired soldiers in Colombia. Their motto is "Loyalty, Valor, Sacrifice."
