This emblem, my friends, is perhaps the most famous in our Army—none other than the crest of the legendary and deeply mourned "Colombia" Infantry Battalion, participants in the Multinational Force in Korea (Col. Bat. 1), Suez (Col. Bat. 2), and now in the Sinai (Col. Bat. 3).
This corresponds to the most highly trained unit within the Colombian Military Forces: the Lanceros Group. It constitutes the first step toward becoming a Commando in Colombia; they represent the "Colombianization" of the U.S. Army Ranger, and are perhaps the most admired soldiers in Colombia. Their motto is "Loyalty, Valor, Sacrifice."
This corresponds to the Joint Special Operations Command; it is composed of the Special Forces of the Army, the Navy, and the Aerospace Force.
This emblem belongs to Combat Air Command No. 1—"the home of the fighter pilots", It has an eagle with a missile.
This coat of arms belongs to Combat Air Command No. 2—the "Pride of the Llaneros", It features Pegasus, the winged horse; the Eastern Plains are a vast region of Colombia.
This emblem belongs to Combat Air Command No. 3—"The House of the Dragons"—given that the A-37 Dragonfly flew there for many years, It features a seagull, as the unit covers Colombia's Atlantic coast.
This emblem belongs to Combat Air Command No. 4—the "cradle of rotary-wing pilots", It features a hummingbird, representing the helicopters deployed there and their school.
This emblem represents Combat Air Command No. 5—"The Home of the Brave Falcons"—and features a falcon symbolizing the UH-60 and AH-60 helicopters deployed there.
This emblem represents Combat Air Command No. 6—the "Guardians of the Amazon." It features a jaguar, as many of these animals were encountered 92 years ago when the airbase was founded; it is one of the oldest in the country.
This emblem represents Combat Air Command No. 7—"Guardians of the Colombian Southwest"—and features a winged warrior.
This emblem represents the Air Maintenance Command—"a century of commitment, a future of excellence." It is the oldest unit of the Colombian Aerospace Force; it is 102 years old!
