His Majesty The King granted an Audience at Paro Shaba this morning to the first ever Bhutanese contingent of 180 personnel from the Royal Bhutan Army, being deployed for United Nations peacekeeping operations. The contingent is expected to begin their assignment in September.Central African Republic (MINUSCA).

A milestone in the military history of Bhutan, with the first cohort of women recruits being trained in the Royal Bhutan Army. 151 men & 150 women have completed their yearlong training at the MTC and will now be posted to the various wings of the RBA across the country.
