No, we won't. Aside from gas prices, Iran doesn't have enough strength to attack any more than it already is.
It is Iran that is under pressure, not the other way around.
Destroying Iran to the grounds is what should have been done from the very beginning.
Destroying the leadership and the IRGC figures is, in retrospect, what should have been done.
Though the strikes carried out against the leadership have been very important and carried out in a scale rarely seen before, it turns out it wasn't enough. At the time it appeared to be enough, expecting the lower ranks to get into their head that "don't even think about messing around or you will get the stick", but it turns out they are a kind of suicidal delusional.
It was to be expected, since we know these people, they have been studied, their behavior is known, their state of mind, etc... We know who they are, but nobody is safe from "being turned", changing their mind, seeing the light or having them to be reasonable.
Which perhaps was something the US was counting on. Perhaps, who knows. But it didn't work.
The initial attacks on Iran was relying on the fact they would shake the IRGC institution hard enough for them to drop the proverbial towel and come to term with the facts they had to go.
The IRGC was the target, therefore were targeted the infrastructures the RIGC relied on. Thus leaving the population relatively untouched, because we needed the support and collaboration of the population for what was supposed to come after. We all know what to expect of a country when the population is entirely, or in its majority, alienated against us.
Ultimately, what is being done is "for the good of the people", but you can't beat a people and say it is for their own good at the same time.
Well...
you can do that, but don't expect them to believe you.
