Going back to the whole AK thing, sure it is old, but AKs being AKs if, one day, 4000 years from now, archeologists dig up our civilization from the dust of some global mass extinction event, and managed to find an AK... chances are it would still work. 
Anyway, entire joking around put aside, what is interesting is how CNN somehow managed to get a VIP pass to the event.

Yes. The US commited a war crime that killed less than 100 children at most.
Iran on the other hand was forced to defend their democratically elected government of the people from a dangerous insurgency of women, children, handicapped and the rest of the unarmed by killing and/or imprisoning, torturing and gang raping 100,000+ because they weren't hostile towards what by general consensus of those blessed with allowed knowledge is agreed upon to be the real Apartheid state.
