WW2 US shipyards with their Liberty ship production output have nothing on the IRGC naval yards, like they keep respawning some gunboats to close the strait every the other day after Trump says their navy is destroyed. No wonder he wants some nato backup to camp that spawn. That´s just wild man!

Trump clearly stated before the ceasefire that the US didn't destroy all of the fast attack craft, but that these would be destroyed too if they interfered with shipping.

Trump clearly stated before the ceasefire that the US didn't destroy all of the fast attack craft, but that these would be destroyed too if they interfered with shipping.

TBH It´s all going so fast I´ve lost track on what exactly has been said besides the most extreme takes. "Completely obliterated" should not leave any wiggle room and should be taken as said. And then we get some gunboats, closing in to engagement range, firing with an intent. Makes one wonder.

"Completely obliterated" might sound hyperbolic, and perhaps it is. However, let us compare the Iranian navy then, to what it is now: apart from small fast patrol ships fitted with DShK and logistic ships, everything, or close to it, has been either disabled or destroyed.
Basically the Iranian navy has been downgraded all the way down to the Somali navy.

Gunboats can be a nuisance, yes, but not a threat comparable to a frigate, a corvette, a missile boat and such.

Incidentally, these gunboats are fairly easy to make. Just get something big enough on which to bolt a .50 cal and there you go.
