I've been meaning to do this for a while-post up pics of all my currently owned kit. I'll do the helmets today and the rest when I can get around to it. Shall we begin........

First up, my Vietnam-era Gentex T-56 CVC helmet (graffitti includes a small tribute to a mate who died of a heart-attack in 2009 aged 38)

Next up, my Israeli IDF 'Tankers helmet, with UK-made electronics (i'm assuming this is a standard thing)

1970s British 'Tankies helmet. I've been unable to find much info about this helmet, and hardly any pictures-i'm specifically interested in how the mic sits in front of the mouth as it seems that you can't adjust it at all. In the pics it's pressing quite firmly against my lips, and I know my head isn't THAT big (tho my fiance would probably tell you something different!)

US/French Army helmet by Gentex. Unknown as to whether this is the classic 'K-Pot'. It's got some nice built-in leather pads underneath the ears and at the nape, a slightly-fiddly chinstrap clip, and appears to be for someone with a very large head as I can't make the straps any smaller to fit me!

1980s US M1 helmet with 1965 'Mitchell' pattern cover

Lightweight helmet. I know practically nothing about this one, and i'd appreciate any info anyone has on it.

Current-issue British Mk.7 helmet. Added my Surefire light and goggles. I'm gonna look for a decent cover for it at this years War and Peace Show, but why do the latest-issue covers seem to be growing half a ton of scrim???

I believe this is an RAF flying helmet as used in bombers like the Vulcan. (according to a mate from my TA days, the side view looks like a "Tactical Womble"...i'm not sure if that's a compliment or not! :p )

To back up my 'bomber' claim above...the Vulcan bomber crew from "James Bond-Thunderball"

Sorry for late reply bud tied up with some other stuff.
Thats some collection you got there. wouldnt mind one of them VN helmets myself. How much do they go for ?

Not a problem, Bom-there really aren't enough hours in the day sometimes...

Do you mean the T-56 or the M1? I bought my T-56 from my local Army Surplus store for £35, and i've seen them on ebay from $5-$75. They turn up quite often on there, in various conditions. The M1 cost me about £35 almost 10yrs ago, and the cover was a lucky find (in the same Army Surplus store as before) for £3! (normally you're looking at $30+). To buy an original Vietnam-used M1 (with the 'tortoise-shell liner) you're looking at paying anything upwards of £40/£50, and they're getting rarer as time passes.

Thanks mate.
They not too pricey but I will have to put some pocket money away or the wife will rip my Bo*****S off LOL

No probs man.
I know that feeling well, my fiance is the same with me! Tho it's good in a way, cos I could EASILY easily spend most of my pay packet on ebay

I’ve acquired a fair collection in the last 6yrs since I started this thread... here’s SOME of it!
Doesn’t include my British Mk.2,3 or both 4s, at least 2 WW2 M1s and 2 Vietnam M1s, US APH-5 flight helmet...and that’s just the lids!
