1937 - The hydrogen-filled German dirigible Hindenburg crashed in New Jersey, killing 36 of its passengers. It was the largest dirigible ever built and the pride of Nazi Germany.

Yep... May 6th, my birthday. I used to get depressed, as my youngest sister was born on the 4th of July; my next oldest sister was born on Valentines Day. So one day I went to the library and researched my birthdate. I was born on the anniversary of the biggest blimp disaster in history, an event that signaled the end of the Airship Era!! Well, at least it's something!!!!!
