Israel is braced for potential attacks by Iran and Hezbollah in the coming days, and assesses that they could come from “several fronts,” Channel 12 reports.

It says the Israeli security establishment is on “peak alert” and that members of a US-led international coalition aimed at thwarting such attacks are braced to try and deter and intercept them.

Iran said on Saturday it expects Lebanon’s Tehran-backed Hezbollah terror group to strike deeper inside Israel and no longer be confined to military targets after Israel killed Hezbollah military commander Fuad Shukr.

The warning comes amid increased fears of a major escalation in the area and continued cross-border fire between Israel and Hezbollah, which started attacking Israel the day after the October 7 Hamas-launched onslaught on Israel from Gaza.

But a strike claimed by Israel in a crowded residential area of South Beirut changed the Lebanese terror group’s calculus, Iran’s mission to the United Nations said.

Karim Khan KC, the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), relied on implausible reports based on incomplete information suggesting famine was imminent in parts of Gaza, when he applied for arrest warrants against the Israeli Prime Minister and Defence Minister.

UKLFI Charitable Trust has today published a detailed review of a series of reports assessing whether there has been a state of famine in Gaza during the current war. The conclusion is, happily, that there has been no famine in Gaza.

The review explains that famine has been defined by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) developed in 2004 for use in Somalia. In this context, the term famine is a scientific classification based on standards, evidence, and technical consensus, not a rhetorical or emotive term.

Add to this that the UN only takes the food aid data that UNRWA reports to it, which is missing significant records from its reports, unlike COGAT which includes everything.

Unnamed Western intelligence sources quoted by the UAE-owned Sky News Arabia indicate that Iran and Hezbollah plan to launch their retaliatory strike against Israel on Tisha B’av, the day of mourning for the destruction of the two Jewish temples, which begins this year at sunset on August 12 and ends on August 13 at nightfall.

The sources indicate that the choice of the day is due to several psychological and tactical considerations. It may aim to revive historical traumas for Jews of destruction and uprooting, thereby amplifying the psychological impact of the attack on Israeli society.

Another source indicates attacks could begin tomorrow evening, it's worth noting that the last response came 13 days after the strike on the building in the consulate complex. Apparently also Iran also doesn't care if they start a war with Israel? I know the mullahs are fanatics, but they're surely not stupid..?

Iran is sticking with the short range launcher being used instead of an airstrike or explosives.

Between "What AD doing? -Persian language version v3.0" and "Which servant is currently planting a bomb underneath the Supreme Ayatollah's seat" I guess a Mossad hit team leisurely setting up a Spike launcher, firing it, taking it down again and disappearing before we can respond in any way is so much better for our public image as the competent regional badass!
