Could they really be that stupid (yeah, I guess)? AD mostly in pieces after an Israeli strike that could have otherwise let them lick their wounds and save their faces.

Macron got his 2 cents of political capital from the local Islamists and lefties, Israel got to participate in the exhibition - a win-win...

I wonder why they seemingly only targeted the imported systems. Do the Israelis know that the domestic systems are actually nothing more than fancy window dressing? Were they built using components with "additional features" bought from a Romanian P.O. box company?

The only genuine (as in: existing, working, etc...) AD systems they have are the S400, S300/300PMU, Thor and, perhaps, Rapier.

We know they have Thors and we know it works because they shot down a civilian airliner a few years back.

I am disregarding manpads because they lack relevance in this context.

The rest is retrofitted, renamed systems and homemade copies. They look fancy when they are out parading, but that's pretty much all there is to it. Do they actually work? Do they actually perform? Are the crews actually trained? etc...

Who knows. Sounds like they are upset. They essentially have no air defense now, or at least third world air defense. The Iranian air force is a non-factor. Israel could stop their oil production within a few hours. Perhaps they feel international pressure won't allow that. Stupid, stupid, stupid. I'm not even sure they have enough ballistic missiles for another attack. Long distance drones are simply air-to-air practice for US/Israeli/coalition aircraft.

Iran should just get it's sh!t together before Israel does a decapitation strike.

No matter the state of Iran's AD, the country starts with massive handicaps:

-no air force.
-no EWS to speak of.

To draw a parallel, look at Ukraine:

-no air force to speak of.
-no EWS to speak of, apart from the one provided by NATO.

The only difference is that Ukraine has decent and working AD, and Russia does not need to leave Russia's airspace.

I've seen nothing concrete to confirm this and I doubt very much they have it, that would have been a priority target I'm sure if so. Ukraine has demonstrated that the system is not invincible in any case, and an attack with 5th generation F-35s would likely wipe the floor clean too.

I'm not even sure they have enough ballistic missiles for another attack.
They had about 400 ballistics that could reach Israel and have used 300 of them so they literally have about 100 left, and I doubt they'd want to waste those on another fireworks show that doesn't really do anything. Last time state media claimed they wiped out all the F-35s at Nevatim and yet those same F-35s mysteriously were repaired and used to kick their sorry butts 25 days later, funny that...

Allegedly they have it.

Now, do they have all of the components, and do they know how to use properly?
Though I don't know the answer for the first part, I would assume the answer to the second part is no.

Allegedly they have it.
Yeah but that's what I mean, the "allegedly" comes from fringe dubious sources, most MSM talks about Iran wanting it but not actually getting it. Iran and Russia are supposed to be signing some joint defence contract soon, so perhaps that will be part of it.

Anyway, here's a video from two years ago that demonstrates how the system would likely perform against the latest Western technology;

I’m taking f14 escorted back to Israel by f35 in the next bingo round.

The New York Times cites three Iranian officials who say that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei instructed the Supreme National Security Council on Monday to prepare for attacking Israel after reviewing the damage caused by Israel’s retaliatory strike earlier this month and determining that it was too major to ignore.

The officials say that military commanders are preparing a list of dozens of potential military targets in Israel.

The retaliatory attack is unlikely to take place before the US presidential election, as Tehran fears another spike in regional tensions could benefit Republican nominee Donald Trump, the officials tell NYT.
An 85 year old man has become senile, probably a good idea to put him down...
