Israel will have mapped as many bunkers etc as it can, its had years to do it. So it’s gone in on the ground, fairly slowly. Israeli society seems to accept casualties of soldiers, rather than its civilians be butchered.
I’ve said before, once cleared, can Lebanon on the ground, with us U.K. nato air support, keep hezzies weapons out?
Without a decisive order from our Lebanese military to engage civilians, Hezbollah remains well-equipped with small arms and continues to monitor , attempting to maintain control. However, many former Shiite supporters of Hezbollah now just want the conflict to end and want Hezbollah out.
The Sunni communities in Beirut and Tripoli are effectively keeping the Shiites in check, which is encouraging. The Druze are also assisting displaced individuals, as long as Hezbollah isn't mentioned or cause trouble. The Christian community is doing a commendable job as well.
Overall, everyone is focused on helping children, the sick, and the elderly, provided there are no disruptions. Hezbollah members are definitely unwelcome, and discussions are ongoing within all communities to ensure that only families can rent homes or apartments. Any families that raise suspicions undergo background checks.
Regarding schools and open public spaces, there's not much we can do, but the army is performing well in maintaining order. Some individuals have moved to the seaside area known as Ain Al Mraiseh, famous for its vibrant atmosphere, historic architecture, and proximity to the sea. Attempts by some southern residents to build concrete homes there were swiftly addressed by the army, which removed them and their makeshift structures. This has been attempted in various locations, but so far, they have not been allowed to settle.
Fortunately, Israel hasn't targeted our army, as many of us rely on them for safety and order in the coming phase. We'll see what happens next once this situation is resolved, as Hezbollah is still reeling from the rapid loss of power and leadership in less than two weeks. Many members feel cornered, and a cornered animal can react violently. Hopefully, the next phase unfolds positively.
