The death of a UK soldier when a US pilot fired on his convoy in Iraq was

Corporal Matty Hull, 25, amounted to a criminal act, Andrew Walker said.

Seems to me this trial was more of a political act than anything else. Question: Has there been any trials finding the terrorists guilty of assault.
Frightful waste of time & money...in my opinion.
Friendly fire happens.

This was more than political, this gave closure to the family of Corporal Matty Hull. It was the verdict of the coroner that the act was unlawful under British civil law, and that verdict, right or wrong helped the familiy.

I agree that friendly fire does happen, but to just accept it without investigation would be a "Frightful waste of time " money should not come into it.
