I know the title is really not poetic, but I could think of no other. Maybe I didn't want to dilute to point of the poem??? I'm by no means a poet, and was inspired to write this, when I saw other modern war poetry, and to post it here by MarineMG03's recent post.

It's an an attempt to get inside my head and give voice to those who haunt me.

Discovery of Yet Another Mass Grave

Silence …….
Comes all at once
The birdcalls…… Missing
Something on the wind …….Evil
Something calling out to me……. Remember us
Us, our horror, the fear, crying babies, praying, bleeding, pain, torture, no hope

There……
Stop the truck
The birdcalls……Missing
Evil was here, my mind……feeling
Evil unleashed, innocence crushed………Remember us
Us, for a name we were hunted, for a name you forgot us, then death.

Here…….
Hidden from view
The birdcalls…….Missing
Almost consumed by jungle…….tortured souls
More proof of humanity lost………..Remember us
Us, who found no sanctuary, no mercy, a world’s shame.

In memory of those we forgot in Rwanda

Very poetic and dramatic, PB. Good work. (Y)

From the heart,
Feeling expressed by words...
From the mind,
Thoughts stuggle to be heard...
Revelation!!

a short bit of my prose, stirred forth by yours.
