I think we need separate pandemic thread in relation to military and police forces only.
Spread of infection, counter measures, help to civilian authorities, etc.

Edit:As of Tuesday, 1,975 service members had tested positive for COVID-19, including 470 Army, 351 Air Force, 140 Marine Corps and 513 Navy personnel. An additional 1,185 family members, civilian employees and family members also have confirmed cases.

A report by News Week (New York based magazine) claimed that more than 150 military bases of United States of America have been infected of Coronavirus (COVID-19) which has halted military training.

South Africa’s military has been deployed in communities across the country to support efforts to contain the COVID-19 disease, and help save the lives of citizens.

In terms of the mission to combat COVID-19, the defence force will, among other duties, protect quarantine sites, deliver food and others essential supplies to mass storage facilities, help police restrict people’s movements, conduct road blocks and to curtail unrest.

But can it fulfil these duties? The South African National Defence Force has suffered from terrible neglect over the past 25 years of democracy. The result is that in this time of crisis, it may not be able to muster enough troops to maintain the lockdown.

Three flights of ADF and AUSMAT personnel touched down at Burnie airport on Tuesday afternoon.
From the ADF 40 defence staff and seven civilian medical professionals were deployed whose roles include general duties medical officers, emergency nurses, a pharmacist, a radiographer and an environmental health officer.

That's terrible news, the lot of it. I'll admit as a layman in all things marine, I would've expected warships to be able to cope better though. I mean, they're not civilian cruise ships. Aren't there all kinds of safety measures in place to prevent the spread of bugs like Norovirus?

I am not astonished
Warships are basicaly petri dishes floating
Cramped, with closed quarters, without much renewed air, 3 beds for 4 persons as standards and rooms of no more than a pair of m² plus tight corridors where you cross each others in a space of no more than a shoulder wide .....

What I'd like to know is the numbers of the China's PLA soldiers affected. I defy anyone to find out. I've search and searched..nada! In the forum of which I was once the head mod, sinodefenceforum, I could find nothing.

Over the weekend, a Chinese aircraft carrier sailed past Taiwan in a show of strength as the U.S. Navy continued to struggle with outbreaks on its military ships in the Pacific. The USS Theodore Roosevelt, in particular, has been badly hit by an outbreak and is currently docked in Guam.
While the American carriers have been sidelined, China’s Liaoning is the only one that is operating in the Western Pacific.
