They were being sarcastic or deliberately misleading, no such thing as "social credit" in the UK.No need to regulate anything there. The people have voted with their feet. Because, apparently, it's much more convenient to pay for your cinnamon buns with your smartphone and some server farm-slaved app than a bunch of coins.Yeah, he'd have you believe that.

Just to be clear, Starmer is the absolutely worst leader the UK could be stuck with right now; even Farage might do a better job, provided he sees an opportunity to make a few extra millions here and there, because that's all Nigel Farage has ever cared about.

But the UK is where it is now because of the Tories, not Labour. Cameron ruined the state's finances by stepping on the austerity pedal for too long, causing a tidal wave of an investment backlog; and May and Johnson lost the UK hundreds of billions through their bungled Brexit negotiations, and accelerated migration in a misguided belief that the UK needed cheap labour to get out of the Covid slump. Johnson is personally responsible for much of that slump. First, he didn't want to do anything to contain the pandemic, then he had to spend a night on a ventilator and totally freaked out about it, imposing draconian measures.

The only good thing Johnson's ever done was to take a stand against Putin and support Ukraine unreservedly.
Polls suggest U.K. will take farage, flaws and all.

Muck: the courageous and bold even stance of Boris Johnson against Vlad got him my upmost respect then. I think most of us know the rest of his history as PM, didn’t do only wrongs. Trying to please everyone in this day and age is pure folly.

I don’t honestly know nearly enough about Farage; beside he’s one of the main Brexit architects. Dunno, can’t tell what would a Farage at Number 10 gives, what the UK and its population could benefits from it. Politicians are full of empty promises…

The problem with a Reform government isn't so much Farage himself imo, but the need to create a government from a party without experience and party structure used to governing. Seen this before with Pim Fortuyn's LPF (him getting assassinated didn't help, but wouldn't have changed the outcome by much), Wilder's PVV and even Trump's first term chaotic recruitment and as a consequence frequent firings.

Inexperienced people from outside of politics not used to the partisan squabbling, opportunists, turncoats from other parties with incompatible ideological viewpoints, members having to publically attack the leadership in order to break with the party so they have a chance of getting a job etc.

A mess in the making.

@Jake84
Remember when Farage voted in favour of increasing the pay of MEPs (i.e. his own allowance) after Britain had already voted leave? Remember when he took a last minute chance to get his family German passports and his children spots at German universities, after a career of lamenting the costs foreigners were causing the British taxpayer?

I'm increasingly convinced a populist is just an ordinary politician who's managed to bullshit the electorate into believing that he is not.

@Mike1976
Many Reform functionaries are Tory defectors, though. I'll readily admit that movements like theirs are often met with obstructionism (particularly by public servants and courts), but they're just as likely to sabotage themselves through incompetence and ideological orthodoxy. They're their own worst enemy in this regard.

Not shown, the moped gang that grabs her phone out of her hand as she stands outside the tube station immediately after...

bit of a self defeating argument that, we had 14 years of conservative, so very few labour MP's would have any experience, and Reform seem to be trying to build up their team, some will come from conservatives, and some will come from business/professions. And to be fair, having tried 'professional politicians for 30 years, I'd prefer to see people that actually have worked, made money, worked in the NHS etc. Really cant do a worse job.

That was a real ad over in Germany reported here a few years ago, I initially thought of it as satire, but the German government after the Cologne mass sexual assault during a Christmas market isn’t shy of this kind of stunt. Overweight red hair fraulein suddenly groping poor immigrants in pools.

Why is the British Gov continually allowing our Veterans to be hounded and brought to trial by others for BS Reasons

I found on fb in a closed group that traitors have leaked the name of Soldier F and his Pic to the Anti British mob and they also to continue to seek another trial citing Perjury ..

I have the 2 screen shots

Is this real?

The video? Is it fxck.

Having a look at the channel it's clear it's pushing unfettered pish, and it's sad that this sort of Bo*****S continues to gain traction. There are clearly issues in places, but this sort of S**t is clearly generated to add fuel to the fire and keep everyone at each others throats. I wish that people had greater capacity for critical thinking in this country, but it's clear we don't. Explains why we are where we are these days.

That's why I asked

10 years ago one could be sure it was fake

But in current times...

No probs Redav.

I live here in the UK and get around the place a bit. I also note the origin and content of many of the posts about the UK and have to be honest when I say it doesn't tend to reflect the reality of what it's like on the ground here. And that's me being kind. Sure, there is an underlying malaise across the country, but what you see in the press and other outlets is there "for the clicks", and nothing drives clicks like The Latest Outrage.

Social Media (amongst others) amplifies the extremes and presents a hugely distorted view of the situation - and that's just for the real stuff. There is an increasing amount of fabricated media added into this. The AI slop is getting better but still has many giveaways, and there will come a time when it is better curated and becomes really difficult to call out what it is. We are reaching the point where the Internet becomes wholly untrustworthy. I'm not so sure these days that if it were it to collapse into disrepute it would be a "bad thing" anymore. I grew up when "The News" was about "reporting the situation", not "offering an opinion" on it (or, more dangerously, misrepresenting it). There was also the truth, not moronic sh!te like my truth. Good luck finding basic objectivity in the modern journalist.

I just wish that there was a bit more cynicism exercised by viewers regarding this type of content. For example - look at the posting history of the author. Real people don't tend to post almost exclusively about a single topic - especially inflammatory ones. Viewers need to ask themselves - who stands to gain from their narrative?

I'm not a Mod on here, but it's fair to say I'd be sorely tempted to nuke a sh!t load of the posts & links I see here on a daily basis purely because they'd deserve it for being the clearly fake pish that they are. But that runs counter to Freedom of Speech and of Expression and risks avoiding and attempting to address the underlying issues. In my dealings I always counsel 'be careful what you wish for' - that nugget of ancient wisdom also applies here because this "freedom" can have a powerful effect on others when abused. People are (should be) free to say what they want - but be prepared to be robustly challenged and for having any egregious lies being called out for what they are.

The following channel posts loads of anti-Starmer and anti-Labour government posts daily. Today they went a bit further and revealed who their paymaster is. Many of these channels are run by the enemy.
