I have read they are pretty high performing aircraft, albeit commercial aircraft.

They're awesome in terms of performance, but they're getting incredibly expensive to operate. Condor switched from 757's to A321N's over the course of 2025, and found they burn 35% less fuel per flight hour.

I'll never understand why Boeing didn't try to create an upgraded 757 with new engines. But then again, neither will Boeing.

Following RN practice there is a Courts Martial held for those deemed respsonsible. It would normally be the Captain, navigator and the officer-of-the-watch (who would have had the con at the time)
