PHUOC TUY PROVINCE, SOUTH VIETNAM. 1970-03. A 105 mm artillery round rips through the night on its way to the enemy. The howitzer, from the 101st battery, Royal Australian Artillery, was firing and support of 6 RAR/NZ (ANZAC). The ANZAC battalion comprised of 6 RAR and a component from the 1st Battalion Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment, which was operating from its Forward Fire Base, Peggy. (AWM)
Mortarmen of the 6RAR /NZ (ANZAC) (The ANZAC Battalion comprising 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment and a component from the 1st Battalion, Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment), duck the muzzle blast of their 81mm mortar during night firing at Fire Support Base Peggy. The mortar was firing in support of the battalion's troops who clashed with the Viet Cong while patrolling from Peggy.
