25 aircraft were converted from J35A single-seat fighters into SK35C trainer versions between April 1961 and August 1962. The first SK35C prototype flew on 30 December 1959.

In September 2023, Sweden signed a contract with BAE Systems Bofors for the delivery of an additional 48 Archer self-propelled gun-howitzers. Their purchase was motivated, among other reasons, by the desire to replenish its artillery fleet following the transfer of the aforementioned artillery to Ukraine (8 howitzers) and its sale to the United Kingdom (14 howitzers). A few days ago, the Swedish Artillery Regiment in Boden (Bodens artilleriregemente A-8) released photos of the first howitzer being fired.

The main change here is the replacement of the carrier – a 6x6 Volvo A30E articulated hauler has been replaced by a German 8x8 RMMV HX2 truck. Ukraine will also receive 36 units of this version (for a total of 44 Archers, although several have already been lost). In June, Latvia signed a letter of intent regarding the acquisition of 18 units of this version as well, and the possible leasing of an unspecified pool of older vehicles until the ordered howitzers are received.
