Thought I'd make this a thread of it's own considering there have already been at least 14 kinetic engagements.

The USS Graveston has docked in Trinidad just off of Venezuela and US Marines have also been moved there.

Poor fishermen without money to buy fishing rods or nets, but they get 100% subsidies on high performance outboard motors. And look at how neatly they package their fish into blocks!
That's called "white grouper". :D

Of course he isn't a target. The bunker that he happens to be in at the time however ... 😇

Venezuelan fishermen, very conscious about over-fishing and the sustainability rate of the the fauna, releasing their catches.

Their countrymen are starving, but they know protecting the ecology is the way for long lasting sustainment.

Good job brave workers of the sea!

14 AD systems. Let's check the russian inventory *brushes aside cobwebs*

How about a card which reads "Wishing you the best"?

I mean if Moscow itself were to donate some of it's defences ...

The "support" Putin could give Maduro is find him a nice apartment in Moscow to live in. Perhaps, same building as Assad.

yeah, of course, I'll just magic 14 new SAM systems, which we werent using, and at the same time make an instant overhaul of your su30 aircraft.....

Venezuela is only valuable to Russia for landing their Tu160 when on very long range trips.

Aside from that they are just people buying stuff.

And the efficiency of the stuff they buy comes down to the way those operating it are able to, actually, operate it.

Though... seeing how Venezuela deployed their systems... that's not something the US can't overcome or, even, would have issues with. SEAD is pretty much an art they perfected, and considering the superiority they have over Venezuela...
As long as it is killing AD sites and leveling ground/underground military sites, it should be fine.

If it goes down to playing on the ground though? Heh... hopefully there won't be any need for that.

Would Maduro be shown the door, or the lid of his casket, the US would likely get preferential treatment. But I can imagine either Trump or Venezuela's future ruler also keeping their door open to Russia to some extent.

Business is business and most countries are fine keeping whoever afloat as long as the money keeps coming in.

"14 AD systems? You want ones that are proven to work? That's going to raise the price substantially! We do have a few *slightly used* systems from our SMO - which is going quite well, thank you very much. They could be buffed off and repainted for a slight fee."
