Hi

Lately i can only acess the forum when i use my own mobile data ...if i try via wifi it does not acess. Is this normal?

This is a discussion we have been having over on the facebook page.
The issue is not with Mi.Net, I know this because I and others can connect quite well using Wi fi services.

It would seem the issue may be with your router settings which appears to be blocking Mi.Net, this can happen and there are plenty of resources to help you fix it online. I use virgin media and have no issues. Given that you can access the site from your mobile service it cannot be anything else, certainly not an issue on our side. have you tried connecting to Mi. Net via a VPN?

You could also have a look at this link, it might help

I have created a small Poll at the top of the page to see if I can get a handle on how widespread this issue might be.
If you cant access via Wifi please also post the type of browser/operating system you are using.

Thanks in advance

Working fine again on my end, but for a good couple of days last week I had this same issue. Beyond my understanding and @Bombardier will fix it while gathering others feedback.

If you run a PING of the site address while connected to WiFi, does it resolve the IP address? What about running a TRACERT?

See my example.

PING.webp

You could also use your computers command prompt to flush your routers DNS cash as follows

Flush the DNS Cache

Step 1: go to command prompt

Step 2: Type the below command and hit Enter.

ipconfig/flushdns

This can resolve issues with no access to certain websites

The purpose of a DNS cache is simply to store the Ip address of certain websites so DNS servers do not have to look for them every time you go to a domain name. if for some reason a websites IP address has changed and your DNS cache has the old IP stored you will likely get the 404 error you may be seeing.

Another important reason is security related some hackers conduct DNS spoofing which can obtain certain personal information or redirect you another website.

Oh and it hides your website search behaviour , reduces targeted ads

Give it a go and let me know how it goes

NB There should be a space in the flush command. IPCONFIG /FLUSHDNS

Yes and it was the same

Actually it started when i was in Hungary if i well recall 👀😬
Are you using Windows 11? I only ask as since I updated to W11 I've had all sorts of weird issues going on. Luckily MI.net is one of the few that seem not to be affected for me 🤔

Android.

Try Proton VPN, they have a free unlimited version for one device. If you can access the site with that running on Wi-Fi it's definitely a problem on your local end either on the device or the router.

(Tiny chance of your ISP blocking "dangerous" content like military sites on their end, switching to a third party DNS might resolve this and if not a VPN definitely will)

Are your Wi-Fi provider and your cellphone provider seperate companies?

I could not connect to the site on the 17th of August and several days after, I just thought that it was down until I noticed that there were member joins recently on the google search results when I tried to open the main page (just in case there was an error with the politics/crime/terrorism section which I've got bookmarked). I then saw the Facebook page conversation and I realised that the site worked on my phone's 4G network but not on my BT Wifi (Chrome), same with my laptop (Firefox, Windows 10). I tried to reset the router but to no avail. I tried using MS Edge as well but it wouldn't work on that either. I didn't see the point in flushing dns and such if it was causing a problem on the phone as well.

Today I'm finally able to reconnect to the site again via Wifi! So I'm pretty stumped as to what went wrong, can't be that a bunch of Wifis worldwide suddenly blocked access right?? Very strange... o_O

I'm just glad to be back again notworthy;
