I was chatting to an old Anzio Veteran the other day, infact I video'd it so i can make notes and produce a little spread about Anzio and this particular fella. Anyway I digress, Harold as was his name was showing me some paperwork and magazines that he had from around that time and I noticed a quote which if I remember rightly was heard to be said by a unknown soldier in Anzio and during the shelling and fighting. The quote went something like this

"Oh God Save us but dont send Jesus, come yourself,this is no place for children"

That has got to be one of the most profound statements I have ever heard.
sal;

Good one, Bomby. I wish I'd said that about some of the places I fought. Would have applied
