    This is the kind of Obstacle that would have awaited Allied Troops on all beaches during the Normandy Landings. Each beach impediment came topped with a teller mine, designed to blow the bottom out of any landing boats. I have also heard of this type of equipment referred to as Hitlers Asparagus.
