  • HACKSAW RIDGE is the incredible true story of Desmond Doss Played by Andrew Garfield who, in Okinawa during the bloodiest battle of WWII, saved 75 men without firing or carrying a gun. He was the only American soldier in WWII to fight on the front lines without a weapon, as he believed that while the war was justified, killing was nevertheless wrong. As an army medic, he single-handedly evacuated the wounded from behind enemy lines on Hacksaw Ridge, braved fire while tending to soldiers and was wounded by a grenade and hit by snipers. Doss was the first conscientious objector to ever earn the Congressional Medal of Honor.

I watched this movie twice in quick succession it is an amazing film based on what I can only describe as a truly awe inspiring story of a man's courage under fire from his comrades during training and then in battle. The affects in the battle scenes are second to none and Andrew Garfield plays the persona of Desmond Doss brilliantly.

I would highly recommend this film you will not be disappointed

    Pros - Awesome cinematography
    Cons - None
Have seen this a few times myself and agree its is a very good watch. Mel Gibson has done a good job portraying the bravery of Desmond Doss.

It had the feel of a good old fashioned war movie but with modern effects.

It is an inspiring story of courage, faith & inner struggle
