HK in Georgia.

First HK that saw usage in republic of Georgia was probably G3 rifles of Turkish origin, around period of 1994-95 years, they were used by Special Units of Ministry Of State Security, they were mostly fitted with optics and bipods and used as marksman rifles, it should be noted that limited number of MSG 90 rifles were also obtained during that time, G3s were also used by some units of Internal Troops. G3s are out of use as of today.

MP5s are a popular choice of different security units and protection agencies since 1990s. First MP5s were received by US-trained Counter-Terrorist units of Ministry Of State Security, those were actual German-made MP5A2 models, during 1990s they were also popular choice for State Protection Service of Georgia, which relied on those weapons up to 2000s. After 2003-4 period large number of Turkish made MP5s were imported in Georgia and are common within Special units of different Ministries and agencies. As of today they are used by Georgian Special Operation Forces, State Protection Service, Special units from Georgian Intelligence Service, Financial Police SWAT team, Counter-Terrorist and other special units of State Security Service, Special Naval Assault teams of Georgian coast guard (they use MP5K models).

HK G36 rifles started to appear in Georgia around late 1990s, their origin is unknown up to this day, First unit to receive G36s was elite Counter-Terrorist unit, Should be noted that Georgia received German army models of G36 with dual optics and not export variants, G36K is also being used. As of today, those rifles are mostly phased out in favor of different AR-15 type rifles. however they occasionally still pop up within different units. G36s are in arsenals of State Protection Service and different units from State Security Service, including the Counter-Terrorist unit.

Other examples of HK being used would be HK33 which saw limited usage within Special Operation Forces in 2000s (operators did not like it much) and HK SL8 rifles which were used as marksman rifles by Counter-Terror unit.
