War goes on with no let up even if it's not in the news. A procession of 18 ambulances on April 7th, 2020 brought badly wounded Ukrainian servicemen to the Central Military Hospital in Kyiv.

On April 8th, 2014, one of the few units still loyal to the state of Ukraine, special operation Police Unit, Jaguar (and the one one that didn't take "wait and see" approach) liberated the City Hall in Kharkiv nipping the pro-Russian movement in the bud. All without firing a single shot. 200 men changed the course of history and stopped dominoes from falling. Today the unit is known as the National Guard 8th Tactical Operations Regiment.

A little be of everything. As you can see they have superb PR core. They do not hide pertinent info and post it almost right away. but yes, the brigade has absolutely been singled out by the Russian forces. This goes back to 2014 and horrendous fighting around Peski by Donetsk airport, where despite throwing everything and everybody at brigade's positions, Russians were not able to push it back, not one inch.

Tremendous blow to Ukrainians and once again the loss that hits very close to me, personally. On November 30th, 2019 during search and destroy operation against the Russian recon team, Ukrainian forces lost two senior officers, both Colonels in SBU ALFA CTU team, Denis Volochaev and Dmytro Kaplunov just 38 and 39 years respectively.

It looks like this tragic story story just had another twist. Today, SBU Department of Counterintelligence detained SBU Major General Valeriy Shaitanov on charges of high treason. In an unprecedented move, Ukrainians also released surveillance snippets where the rat is meeting with his Russian handler, FSB colonel Igor Yegorov.

SBU heads over the years stated that they want SBU to be like an Israeli Mossad. Something tells that given the sheer amount of evidence against the traitor, Israelis would have acted differently against him as well as his Russian handler.

Private 1st Class Igor Vivcharenko was killed on April 14th, 2020 during a training accident, mortar explosion. Igor was 24 years old and served in the 3rd Special Forces Regiment. 8 of his comrades were wounded as a result of an explosion.

Mortar appears to be intact, so perhaps pre-mature round detonation. Artillerymen are welcome to chime in.
