George Washington is undergoing refueling complex overhaul (RCOH) at Newport News Shipyard. RCOH is a nearly four-year project performed only once during a carrier’s 50-year service life that includes refueling of the ship’s two nuclear reactors, as well as significant repair, upgrades and modernization. Madame Sabiha Gökçen, Turkey's first female fighter pilot (and the third in the world) tells an international group of cadets about her flying experiences. The cadets are in the US as part of a group of 120 here on an exchange arranged by the Air Force-Civil Air Patrol. (August 10, 1953)
