Fun fact. The portuguese frigates that never were.
Back in 2005 two OHP class frigates, FFG-12 and FFG-14 were supposed to have been trasferred to Portugal via FMS.
But also in 2005 there were antecipated elections and the government was replaced so the process went to a stalemate.
Then in 2006 the Netherlands put 6 Karel Doorman frigates up for sale and Portugal ended up buying two that went to replace the two old João Belo frigates still active, that were then sold to Uruguay in 2008.
