Well no response from greek71airborne via TAARB, I guess he is well involved at The Mess. I have seen his posts over there that have been reduced to mere links, a tragedy in my eyes. If anybody has contact with him and can point him in this direction where he can be himself again, that would be great, we would all benefit from his input.

Yeah, I´m another guy who was at mp than aar and now i´m here. I am pretty much interested in security politics since i´m like 12-13 or so now i´m 21 and a student at an bayarian university. Havent served in the military just a very busy volunteer firefighter (500+calls).

I am same guy as commanding on MPNET and themess.net forums, and Buddy on AAR forum. age 70, retired and US army vet, 5th generation Texan. married 49 yrs, with 4 grandkids, one daughter and one wife.
Active duty 1971-73 and reserves after that.
back in the day when we had steel helmets, and black leather combat boots. And you HAD to wear Class A uniform when flying commercial.

Just a short note to thank all the refugees from the AAR who have decided to move over to this new group of likeminded colleagues. It was with a heavy heart that I instigated the closing down of AAR and I wanted you guys to know I appreciate your faith in my advice to come on over.
I will be putting the AAR site under wraps as from April 30th, any need for posts/photo's/vids or any copies of your great efforts over the years will have to be migrated before that date.

I know how you feel buddy it is difficult ending something that you have put heart and soul into. If its any consolation at all, you and the TAARB members have given your new home here at MI.Net a much needed boost and I have had positive comments from other members too. You @BravoZulu have also taken up a role as a Super Moderator and you can continue your great work here, as you have been doing so well lately.
I was once told that Forums were a thing of the past due to Facebook and other social Media, I doubt that is true, albeit they have taken the spotlight over the last few years. I think a site such as ours, with members so knowledgeable and keen to discuss matters of military importance will be a smack in the face of the main stream social media, we have much more of a personal touch and and an attention to detail than any social media site could ever produce.
I thank TAARB members for coming over here and entrusting us with their time and efforts, I can say with all surety that we are not going anywhere, things are set to only get better here at MI.Net. I also pay a huge thank you to our other members who have stuck with us through the quieter times, that kind of loyalty cannot be bought.
Onwards and Upwards fellow Mi.Netters lets show the mainstream socials that we are a force to be reckoned with

About me... why am I here? interested in Military stuff, father was captain in artillery reserves here in Ireland... kinda picked up the bug from him.
Work in tech sector, interests *here* and Astronomy, target shooting (rifle / pistol)
Tea drinker rather than tea-totaller!

I went by 'Itsnodawayitustabe' but i changed my name because it was too long to fit according to the sign up page. I'm into cars, guns, cats and old school anime. I plan on migrating over some of my old threads over here.
