Unarmed members of Pro-Russian self-defense forces, left, force themselves through a chain of Ukrainian military men at the Ukrainian Navy headquarters in Sevastopol, Crimea, Wednesday, March 19, 2014. An Associated Press photographer said several hundred militiamen took down the gate and made their way onto the base. They then raised the Russian flag on the square by the headquarters. The unarmed militia waited for an hour in the square before the move to storm the headquarters. Following the arrival of the commander of the Russian Black Sea fleet, the Crimeans took over the building. (AP Photo/Andrew Lubimov)

This photo truely bothers me.

I found these photos on Reuters. They are dated today but I'm sure they date back to late last year. Great pix never-the-less.

Ukrainian recon team member circa 2016. Not special forces, but rather a well off businessmen who volunteered and paid for his weapons and gear out of his own pocket.

The most shelled place on Earth that nobody has heard of. Former Russian position Diamond-2 that Ukrainians captured back in February. Countless Russian counterattacks amounted to nothing but huge losses, so the Russians are shelling the area non stop and with available mortar and artillery assets. The use of armor is problematic since Ukrainian positions are overlooking flat terrain.

Ukrainian National Guard BTR-3, pay attention to the small improvised road sign on the left. It says Nach Moscau, which is onto Moscow in German. Ukrainians continue to troll Russians mercilessly.

as posted in another forum;

90th Airborne Battalion Training Exercise. As you can see from the photos, even in elite units equipment is not that great.

I haven't followed this conflict in recent time. I am curious to know if Ukrainians still deploy their reckless convoy assault tactics just to get casualy ambushed and butchered like a perfect text book example for the enemy on how to commence a successfull ambush ....
Had me so upset ....
