The Fall of Rome took place 4th June, two days prior to the D-Day landings in Normandy, France. Italy.

1943, USS Wasp (CV 18) is photographed, ready for launching, at the Bethlehem Steel Company shipyard, Quincy, Mass.
Wasp earned eight battle stars for her World War II service and was decommissioned in 1972.

3,405 were built: 2,300 by Boeing, 605 by Douglas, and 500 by Lockheed (Vega). These included the famous Memphis Belle. 19 were transferred to the RAF, where they served with RAF Coastal Command as the Fortress II. Three examples of the B-17F remain in existence in the 21st century, including the under-restoration Memphis Belle.

The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt is a World War II-era fighter aircraft produced by the American aerospace company Republic Aviation from 1941 through 1945.
Its primary armament was eight .50-caliber machine guns, and in the fighter-bomber ground-attack role it could carry five-inch rockets or a bomb load of 2,500 lb (1,100 kg).
When fully loaded, the P-47 weighed up to eight tons, making it one of the heaviest fighters of the war.
