In Buenavista, La Guajira, in the company of the Colombian Ministry of Defense, Colombian Military Forces Commander and US Ambassador to Colombia, Philip Goldberg, the National Army received a platform of ASV 4X4 M1117 vehicles, to strengthen their capabilities mobility and maneuvering. The ASVs have technology, performance, interoperability, firepower and high mobility for reconnaissance in difficult and extensive terrain, in less time; they also have armored capacity to guarantee the protection of our men. These vehicles will be deployed on the country's borders, with the purpose of contributing to the security of the territories and national sovereignty, increasing the institutional presence in the most remote regions of Colombia.

The United States donates 150 military vehicles to shield the border between Colombia and Venezuela. An announcement was made from the Buena Vista military canton in the Guajira Penynsula, that seeks to strengthen the fight against drug trafficking led by the FARC dissidents.

If the governments of the United States and Colombia are clear about something, it is that in the fight against drug trafficking and terrorist groups, one of the weak points on the border with Venezuela, in which with the consent of the Nicolás Maduro regime, the criminals, especially the dissidents of the Second Marquetalia, led by Iván Marquez; and another group also from exfarc, led by Iván Mordisco, commit crimes at their ease and take refuge on the other side of the border. That is why the United States Government will donate 145 armored vehicles, specialized for the transport of troops. This Thursday, December 2, the delivery of the first 20 vehicles that will have the mission of transporting troops safely on the borders between the two countries was made. The United States Ambassador to Colombia, Phillip Golberg, said that this shows the shoulder to shoulder work that there is with Colombia and that it demonstrates the good relations between the two nations.
