I certainly don't know much about El Salvador, it's Civil War included, but I presume it is not a nice place to live, and likely still suffers from a enormous gap between the few "haves" and majority "have nots". Also, if National Geographic reports have it right (insert a small hint of sarcasm), the country has a significant problem with organized gangs (e.g., MS-13). Worst of all, many El Salvadorans are in the U.S. illegally, and the El Salvadoran gangs are now firmly entrenched here. On the positive side (insert a large dose of sarcasm here), the government of El Salvador can alwayd be counted on to side w/ the U.S. on most any UN resolution . . .
