WYLD Cyril Garne

WYLD Cyril Garnet, 2nd Lieutenant, 9th Yorkshire Regiment, formerly Corporal 14996, Sherwood Foresters killed in action near Contalmaison, France on the 5th July 1916 aged 30. He was the son of Henry and Fanny Maria nee Garnett and was the husband of Emily Louisa nee Green of "Tirril" 30, Wilford Grove, Skegness, formerly 13 Algitha Road, Skegness Lincolnshire. He gained his commission on the 5th March 1916 and was Mentioned in Despatches. He is commemorated on his parents' memorial in Eastwood Cemetery, Nottinghamshire and also on the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France.
