WOMBWELL and WILSON Memorial

Captain Stephen Frederick Wombwell, who died of Enteric Fever at Vryburg, South Africa on February 1st 1901 whils serving with the 3rd Imperial Yeomanry he was the son of Sir George Wombwell Bt (4th Bart of Newburgh he was a Lieutenant in the
17th Lancers. He served in Crimean War and was at Alma, Inkerman
and Balaklava) and Julia Sarah Alice nee Villiers

Lieutenant Richard Bassett Wilson, who died on July 26th 1900 of wounds received at Oliphants Nek he was an officer of the Yorkshire Hussars.



This brass is erected by their brother officers of the Yorkshire P.W.G. Hussars as a token of their sincerest affection.
