At work last night attending to an emergent case of something not so emergent, this pic popped in my head. The times, circumstances, and atmosphere was very different last night than that of this picture circa July 2010, Sangin DC, Sangin, Afghanistan; where shortly after this photo was taken, my good brothers and I got into just a normal days occurrence of dealing hell on Earth, one bullet at a time.
This moment reminded me last night to cherish those learning moments in life, where every moment should be a lesson in one way or another. It can always be worse, it is what you make of it, and you can only make it better.
This image was initially posted on facebook by a friend of mine and a comrade of my Nephew Royal Marine Paul Warren. Paul served with the owner of this pic in Afghanistan with charlie 'Spartan' Company 40 Commando. Paul was killed by an IED in June 2010 a month before this picture was taken.
the words above that he attached are inspiring and motivational. I can only imagine the demons they all live with.
